The Devil's Advocates

The original "Devil's Advocate" was appointed by the Roman Catholic church. They needed someone to argue against the canonization or the beatification of a person. This advocate would take a position opposing the popular view of the church and argue as hard as he could.

Another definition says that a Devil's Advocate is one who argues from a point of view that he may not actually hold in order to ensure that the other argument will stand on its own or just for the sake of argument.

That is not what we are about. Here at the devil's advocate, we will choose random topics and debate opposing points of view. We appreciate topic suggestions and comments from our readers and in fact encourage you to jump right on into the fray, however, commenter beware, lest you bear the full brunt of the mighty wrath of the justified!

Bronxbishop and Dutch Kuttner are brothers who have been arguing with each other for nearly fifty years about one thing or another. When we really get to going after it, you might want to follow the advice of Tennessee Ernie Ford who performed "Sixteen Tons" back in the day.

When you see me coming you'd better--step aside
A lot of men didn't--a lot of men died

Follow us as we venture into the world of the interesting. There is no topic that is safe from the debate brothers. Check back often and feel free to sign up for our weekly newsletter as soon as we have that link ready. Browse our blog, there are many interesting things to click on.
